The Good Deeds

Touring the United States and Canada

Our Freightliner truck conversion is home on the road for six months each year.

Early retirement has given us the opportunity to travel throughout the United States and Canada and share our joy through our music. We chose a truck conversion because we wanted transportation that would be dependable and would last the duration of our music ministry.  The interior is not fancy but reflects quality workmanship. We designed it to meet our music ministry needs.  It was custom built by Transport Designs in Pennsylvania.

Every day we spend on the road is an exciting new adventure!  We visit family and friends and play at churches, retirement homes, assisted living facilities and skilled nursing homes in their area.

Whenever we can we travel the back roads discovering the hidden treasures of the United States and Canada.
These are some of the areas our music ministry travels have taken us over the years.

United States of America

Appalachian Area

A Lutheran church, originally organized in 1828. Burkes Garden area of Virginia.

We traveled up Garden Mountain on this dirt road.  The road was very narrow and steep in places, but the fall colors were magnificent!

We camped at an RV park in Hillsville, Virginia
(pop. 2000) and found this farmer's market with a bluegrass jam going on inside the building.

While playing our music for the Smoky Mountain National Park campers we went to the Cades Cove area and discovered this wonderful cantilevered barn!

Midwest Area

Mt. Rushmore was a very inspiring treat
for us after playing our music for several weeks in the mid-west.

Mt. Rushmore is in the distance framed
by this "square- cut" tunnel.

We love to visit the Amish community of
Shipshewana, Indiana.

While visiting friends in Friendship,Wisconsin we provided an outdoor Sunday morning "Worship in Song" service at
this country church.

The mighty Mississippi River begins its
2552 mile journey at
Lake Itasca in Minnesota.

Here is Marilyn, standing at the headwaters
of the Mississippi River in
Itasca State Park, Minnesota.

Pacific Northwest Area

The Oregon Coast is another one of our favorite areas.

Southwest Area

We love to spend our winters in the southwest desert.  There are so many opportunities
to share our music with the "snowbirds".
God blesses us with beautiful scenery and adventures!

We enjoy kayaking for recreation.  Here we are on the Colorado River
near Parker, Arizona.

There is nothing like an Arizona sunrise
unless it is an Arizona sunset
Can you guess what this is?
